About Aditi Patil
Aditi Patil is a motivated, eager and gifted student, social entrepreneur and writer with a heavy interest in STEM. Although she is still young, Aditi has taken her reputation and career into her own hands by actively seeking out any and all opportunities to advance not only her career, but her community as well. Aditi is currently studying computer science at the Columbia University Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She's excited to empower her fellow students to pursue their passion for computer science.
As a senior at Half Hollow Hills High School East, Aditi Patil is heavily active in the school and is involved in several extra curricular activities. Most notably, Aditi has been involved in the Mathletes, Academic Team, and Amnesty International; additionally, Aditi has served as the STEM editor of her school's newspaper, The Thunderbird for a few years and loves working with her peers to create engaging and informative pieces on STEM subjects.
Although Aditi loves everything that she does, perhaps her most prized work is XX Coders, the club she founded for young women at her high school to explore their interest in coding. XX Coders may be a high school club, but it has managed to make a major impact on her school and community. The club has gone on to raise thousands of dollars to use and empower female coders.
Aditi set up the program with the intention of offering a safe and welcoming environment for women of all races, colors and creeds to learn about their interest in coding. XX Coders teaches a variety of skills to young women and allows them to implement these skills in various projects that can help the community.
Aditi Patil is dedicated to making a difference in her community and in the field of STEM. Motivated by the well-known gender gap in STEM, Aditi plans on encouraging women to enter the field and to make her voice heard as she forges her professional career.
